Urolithin B is one of Ellagitannins' slow microbial products, and has anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects. Urolithin B suppresses NF-κB activity. Urolithin B suppresses JNK, ERK and Akt's oxidation, and increases AMPK's oxidation.

Urolithin B alleviates cartilage erosion and osteophyte formation induced by anterior cruciate ligament transections. Moreover, urolithin B inhibits the activation of the NF-κB pathway by reducing the phosphorylation of Iκb-α and the nuclear translocation

Urolithin B is a new bioactive compound, which is a linoleic acid compound produced by intestinal flora metabolism. Urolithin B has strong antioxidant capacity, can delay aging, improve health, and can effectively regulate physiological functions in the human body, protect cardiovascular health, and reduce the possibility of tumor occurrence.

Urolithin B, derived from pomegranate peels, is a phenolic compound found in the human gut after absorption of ellagitannins-containing foods such as pomegranate extract, strawberries, walnuts, or oak-aged red wine.

Urolithin B is the metabolite of ellagic acid or ellagitannins (punicalagins). Pomegranates are packed full of ellagic acid, which is one form of a class called tannins. Urolithin b can be found in many fruits and nuts including pomegranate peels and seeds, some berries like raspberries or strawberries as well as grapes from muscadines to oak-aged wines, although the urolithin b content in ellagic acid is low. Urolithin B is also a natural bioactive present in shilajit extract, also known as asphaltum.
