Polydatin is the glycoside of Resveratrol (sc-200808) originally isolated from the Chinese herb Polygonum cuspidatum.
Polydatin powder, also known as Piceid, is a glucoside of resveratrol powder in which glucose is transferred to the C-3 hydroxyl group.
Polydatin has two isomeric forms that exist in nature, cis-polydatin, and trans-polydatin.
It is a well-known stilbene compound with healthy biological activity and a terpenoid compound.
Usually, 98% of natural polydatin is derived from an Asian origin herb Polygonum Cuspidatum Sieb. Et Zucc appeared with white powder as one of the main active ingredients.
Giant knotweed - an excellent source of the potent antioxidant resveratrol - is a plant that is characterized by its hollow stems and its wide, oval-shaped leaves. The giant knotweed plant also grows a profusion of small, white flowers during the late summer and early fall. Once only found in Asia, giant knotweed is now cultivated and prized around the world for its high quantities of resveratrol, which has been shown to have a large number of excellent health benefits and is becoming more and more popular as a diet supplement.
Polydatin is a resveratrol-related glucoside originally found in Polygonum cuspidatum. Polydatin exhibits anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and anti-allergic activities. In lung cancer cells, polydatin downregulates expression of cyclin D1 and Bcl-2 and upregulates expression of Bax, inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. In animal models of sepsis, polydatin decreases sepsis-induced mortality and lung injury by suppressing production of COX-2, iNOS, and inflammatory cytokines. Polydatin also decreases the loss of mucosal barrier integrity in the small intestine due to OVA-induced allergy by inhibiting mast cell degranulation.
Polydatin is a polyphenolic phytoalexin with multiple physiological and pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Polydatin is an effective candidate drug for protecting against photoinflammation. Polydatin has a potential therapeutic effect on vascular dementia, most likely due to its antioxidant activity and direct protective effect on neurons.d improve skin quality. The main role of polydatin in anti-atherosclerosis is to reduce the oxidation of LDL, inhibit the formation of foam cells, inhibit the migration of smooth muscle cell (SMC), and inhibit the formation of necrotic cores.
APPLICATION:
P 1973 (OTTO) Polydatin, ≥95% (HPLC) Cas 65914-17-2 - used in traditional Chinese medicine for analgesic, antipyretic, and diuretic effects. Like other stilbenes, this resveratrol glucoside has antioxidant activity. Polydatin has diverse effects in cells, tissues, and animals, including reducing cytotoxicity, inflammation, and atherosclerosis.
